The Opium Wars

The Opium Wars were about the a drug that the British traded with Chinese people. This was traded secretly because the Chinese refused to trade with the British, So the British decided to "kill" the Chinese people in order to get what they want, which was Tea. But the Chinese emperor decided they didn't like this Drug because eventually the Chinese population started dying of. However England refused to stop selling this drug. Then the war broke out this war was called the Opium war. This war was called the Opium war because of all the people the drug killed in China. The only reason England won because the English were more advanced then the Chinese. Chinese were not that because they were isolated for so long and they also thought they were more better then everyone else because of their old culture.

The White Man's Burden

The Poem "The White Man's Burden" meant that the The people should be grateful for them controlling them. The conquers thought that were doing the people that they conquered a favor by conquering them and teaching them to be more civilized and teach them to eat properly. For example Bush has been trying to reorder the Iraqi government, which gets the Iraqi people more made at the Americans. We are still living in the White Man's Burden today because of Bush and American Government. Most countries like Iraq and America try to to control other countries because they want to their government, their trade routes, and maybe because of Environmental reasons

The Scramble for Africa

The Scramble for Africa meant that Europeans such as England, Spain, Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and France all wanted a piece of Africa because Africa was full of Natural resources in order to produce industrial goods. The main Europeans looked in Africa for rubber, gold, wood, ivory, iron, sliver, and they wanted the African people to change their religion. This happened because most of Africa wasn't in the Industrial age. Most the Europeans had a military advantage, transportation advantage. also they had production of guns available to. The Scramble of Africa affected the Africans by, at first the Africans were into their own religion and now they are converted into Christianity. The Africans also at first working for living or supporting their family and they now work for the people that took over them

Flim Lesson: Mountains of the Moon

Some difficulties that the European explorer's faced were the natives that attacked them, they faced the long journey to across Africa. They suffered the times of the drought. The Europeans named the lake because they think they found it first. But the native found it before them but they did not have the idea to name the Lake. The Europeans easily conquered Africa because most of their land was rural, instead of urban. The Europeans had the technological advantage called the Gun. The Europeans also were in the Industrial age so they had technologically then most people in isolated lands. Most of Asia, and Africa were isolated. The Europeans was just more into trading, producing. That's how the Europeans conquered Africa

The Meiji Restoration of Japan

Matthew Perry "bullied" Japan into change their ways seeing the world economically and politically. He made Japan sign the Treaty of Kanagawa, this happened because the United States needed supplies whenever U.S. ships were out of coal, food, and water. The Japanese were very impressed by the changes the world made from the Steam ships to the Industrial Revolution.
Japan's economy changed dramatically by the all the trading an the profits the Japanese made from the supplies they gave to the passing ship that entered the coast. Japan had no choose but to industrialize in order to keep up with the power and demands of the rest of world. Finally in 1895 The Japanese wins the Sino–Japanese, and becomes a world power, this victory shocked the world. Japan also started to come out with electronics and the top-leading cars in the world. Japan is archipelago which means Japan is a group of small islands in a large group of water.

Copernicus and the the trail of Galileo

The Geocentric Theory first came out by the Catholic church in 1616. The the Heliocentric Theory came out by Copernicus, Galileo and Kepler. I think reason why the church put him on trail was because the church believed that the earth was the universe and they didn't like the fact a scientist was going against them. The church had never had anyone go against before. In the trail of Galileo Aristotle was the lawyer for Galileo and the Pope during the trail was Maffeo Barberini

Trail of Galileo

Scientific Revolution

I think the Scientific Revolution is that when scientist are stuck at a problem the use the Scientific Method to come up with a answer to explain a problem. That is called a scientific theory.

Evolution Creation

I think Evolution means that when someone's or someting's world changes the person or thing tends to change physically and mentally.

Creation probably means when a race is created or world is created for some one else's entertainment or study.
